Hello everyone! I really enjoyed reading your last posts.
Before we dive into the next response, there are some things that you should remember:
1. You're not texting me. PLEASE write using correct English.
2. Proofread, proofread, proofread!!!! I can't remind you enough. Keep in mind that the Internet is a public forum; you don't want others (like your family) to read your post and be horrified by how you choose to spell and use grammar.
3. Answer with some thought in mind. Although all who responded had great things to say, some of the responses were very skeletal- give them some MEAT!
Okay- I want you to think about PREJUDICE. Whenever someone hears the word prejudice, the first type that usually comes to mind is racial prejudice. Keep in mind that prejudice can come in many ways, towards a whole host of things....
How much does prejudice exist in our society? Does it still exist in this land of the free, home of the brave? Think of some wise words from your classmates' last posts:
"I think denial is more prevalent than ever."- Sandra
"People force themselves not to think that something can't happen, but after awhile, it can."-Rashunda
"I think this is because it is much easier for us to accept what we can handle, rather than choose to believe something that would completely overwhelm us."- Liana
"I think denial is more prevalent than ever because people tell themselves that everything is okay so that they won't stress themselves out thinking about the truth." - Yemika
Keeping these comments in mind, answer the following:
1. Where do you find prejudice in the world around you? Think about family conversations, jokes you have shared with friends, the lyrics of popular songs, and the social cliques at school. What are three examples of prejudice that you may have hardly noticed before?
2. What are some ways you tolerate prejudiced attitudes in others?
3. List at least four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society. Next to each group's name, state your honest attitudes toward them. Now list a minimum of three contributions to American society that each of these groups has made.
4. What are some prejudiced attitudes you would like to change in yourself?
5. How and when do prejudiced attitudes turn into prejudiced actions and/or violence? What can you do to keep yourself from crossing that line?
Your answers will be judged on how well you express yourself, so think before you respond.
I look forward to reading your responses.
Sometimes I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can they deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It's beyond me. -Zora Neale Hurston

some ways i tolerate predjudice attitude from other sis i either walk away or i just ignore them in a way i was just pretend they not their the last way i will go about it is i would probab;ly come to them and tell them i dont like ;how the are being predjudice or races to me
ReplyDeletePrejudice are still use throughout our society
ReplyDeleteif you would look around you as in Stereotypes, and can be spreaded by propaganda.
#1. I never would have thought that genocide was an act of prejudice. All throught the story we see people being killed because they are Jew, running to slow, or just classified as useless. Mothers with infant children were automatically killed along with elderly men and women. Some were just taken to the creamtory ,just because the guards were heartless.
ReplyDelete#2. Well, me pesonally I try not to hang aound those who are prejudice to others for no reason, it's very hurtfull and can cause long-term stress, misery, and sadness.
#3. African American men, are targeted and stereotyped by police officers everyday. Some people in general think that just because you see a young black man on the streets walking or hangin' with his friends he has to be selling drugs, smoking weed, etc. or just up to no good. That is not always true, but I can understand if it was. Another group would just be women in general. Men believe that women are inferior compared to them so they treat them like dirt, say mean things to them, and give them shotty jobs. It's really unfair how us women are somewhat treated the same way we were treated a long time ago. In some cities or states women don't have as many rights as men; and also evedn some countries still today.
#4. I don't think that I am a prejudice peson but if I was I would stop myself from judging people by thei outside appearance and judge them by the way they act towards myslef and others.
#5. Being pejudice can turn into a violent act because when the reciever of the harsh comments cannot take anymore the sender will fight them and/or kill them. Other times the reciever of the pejudice act may committ suicide because the would rather be dead. I wouldn't want to act prejudice towards someone or dehumanize them, especially when I know how it feels, and it hurts.
Prejudice still exist in our society today. I believe people are less aware of the prejudice in our society today, but many stereotypes use propagandas to influence others with their prejudice attitudes
ReplyDelete2) I tolerate prejudiced attitudes by walking away from the situation at times or either have a positive attitude when others are negative.
ReplyDelete1. I find prejudice everywhere in the world around me. For example the groups at some schools I've seen only the whites hang together and only the blacks hang with each other. Also I've never noticed that people are prejudice about where they go to hang out. Its not a race thing but whats around it and where they are. Another prejudice thing I have never noticed is that the jokes i say myself sometimes about different things.
ReplyDelete2. The way I tolerate with prejudice is that I don't think about it. If someone ever did do that I wouldn't think twice about them, it actually wouldn't matter to me because if you are that prejudice to someone I don't want to have anything to do with you.
3. African Americans- I think alot of them and I have no problem with them because I am part African American. They have contributed a lot of inventions to society. They have showed the world that racism can be overcome. Lastly they have contributed to government as well.
Also women are targeted by men to be weak and not strong, but from personal experience they are strong!!!! Women have contributed a lot to society they've been governers, good lawyers, could possibly be the next president.
4. Some prejudice things I would like to change in myself is the way i judge people. I usually but not always judge people by the way they look.
5. Prejudice attitudes turn into prejudice actions when more people are involved. Not just one person can make a big scene, but a group could start a movement.

1.) We find prejudice in every part of society today such as school and everyday places. For example the joke jewing it down talks about how someone is complaining how things are. Three examples of prejudice that I hardly notice are: prejudice towards short people, the color of someone’s hair, and the age of someone.
ReplyDeleteprejuice is in the socity all over the place some people still be sterotypeing people on how they look
ReplyDelete1)You can find prejudice in school, jobs, any place that have people. I have seen prejudice in school: for instance, in the lounge there will be one set of whites sitting at one table and black at another.(I am not say anybody is racist) Joke like black people have big lip and white people cant dance is prejudice as well.
ReplyDelete2) I tolerate prejudice by ignoring them or walking away because it is not worth putting your time in to.
3) The four group that i think is being targeted are arads, blacks, and whites.
4) i have prejudiced attitude toward people who act immature and cant be civiled in public.
5) Prejudiced attitude can cause people to retaliate and fight. I keep myself out of people business to stay away from prejudice.
prejudic can be found in every day life and work places. like in schools and jobs. toward short people, black people, and so on.
ReplyDelete1.) Prejudice is find in different religions because not everybody likes the same one. It is also find in some people that think all Mexicans are illegal here in the United States. It is also find in different gangs. People are killing each other over all the different type of gangs that exist today. Three examples of prejudice that I have hardly notice before are in food, sports, and church.
ReplyDelete2.)Some ways I tolerate prejudice attitudes in others is by walking away and act like I don’t care what they say. I try to ignore others and don’t get a attitude with them.
3.)Four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society are African Americans, Caucasians, Hispanic, and Chinese. African Americans have contributed inventions, discriminations, and have spoken up. Hispanics made their mark in American sports, particularly in baseball, they have contributed Mexican food, and work in large factories. Caucasians have contributed crops, buildings, and technology. Chinese have contributed their intelligence, their food, and customs.
4.)Some prejudiced attitudes that I would like to change about myself are in cops, food, schools, and people.
5.)When people start talking about somebody or something and other people start to get offend that’s when prejudice attitudes turn into prejudiced actions or violence. I can clam myself down before opening my mouth and think before offending somebody that’s what I can do so I won’t cross that line.
1.There are a lot of prejudice situations that occur in the world today.I find prejudice situations in schools,in grocery stores, and other places. The three examples of prejudice I have hardly notice before is the religion, appearance, and personality.
ReplyDelete2.I tolerate prejudice by just walking away and ignoring the situation.
3.Four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society is African Americans,Hispanic,Whites, and Women. I have no problem with none of these groups.African Americans has contributed
by inventions,contributions that have made
our life easier, and traditional songs.Hispanics have contributed by traditions, food, and culture.Women have contributed by babies, cooking abilities, and customs.
4. Some prejudice attitudes in myself I will like to change is clothes.
5.When people say things that is unneccessary and it causes people to want to do something to that person.I can avoid this by just closing my mouth and think about what I say before I say it.
1.Prejudice is so apparent in our daily society its crazy. In any regular normal, should be prejudiceless conversation someone will find the way to say something about someone's race, gender, or religon. If someone says that's against you it doesn't mean neccessarily that it is because they are a different race than you.
ReplyDelete2. It easier to ignore, not to say that the easier way is best, but there is no reason to make a fuss to someone who will not listen or change their ideas anyway
3. A. African Americans- Culture, Traffic Light, The alarm clock,
Latinos-Culture, contraceptive pill, Modern Submarine
Women-Mothers of children, The home Diabetes test, cooking stove, Dishwasher, globes
Native Americans-The forefathers of our country, kayak, totem poles, Lacrosse, Housing, Snoeshoes
I'm pretty indiffernet about all the groups. not to say I don't like them its just like any society or group you have the good and the bad. Just because there is one person in a group that I don't like doesn't mean I dislike the entire group or like them, for that matter.
4.I can honestly say that I'm not prejudice, but every now and then I do assume that someone is pretending to be a certain way because they are of a differnet race so I would like to stop assuming.
5.Prejudice turns to violence when a group of people, so consumed by hate, decide that they should take it into their own hands and get rid of the group they hate. When that group, so consumed by hate, is blinded into thinking that what they are doing is for the good of mankind that's when it gets to far.
I don't think I have to worry about crossing that line I'm not now nor will I ever be prejudice against someone. But to others think about this to see if youare going to far 1st. Are you hurting (fill in the group) for no logical reason? 2nd Do you feel a great dsgust when think about (fill in the group)? 3rd would you be more mad if (fill in the group) did somthing that someone in your own group did to you 4th if you spend most of your time explaning that you are not prejudice, and 5th if you spend most of your time thinking how much your group is better than (fill in the group)
1. Prejudge is evident in our world through sterotypes, media, tv & movies. Several rated r compedy flicks show prejudge in some of the jokes.
ReplyDelete2.I try to ignore it;you cant make people change who they are.
3. A.African Americans
1.the traffic light
2.6 of the 44 presidents of the US were of african american descent
3.soldeirs for our army
B.Causion
1.goverment leadership
2.they crated in part the bill of rights
3.math
C.The police
1.they have save the lives of many peole
2.policman keep order in the community
3.controlment of prisoners
D.Women
1.The main reason why everone is here
2.Oprah who is a women has done tons of claritable acts over the world, like the school she has for all girls in africa.
3.Women work in about every positon or job in America.
4.I like to try to change my prejugdement of people basied on their appearance.
5.Prejuged attituds turn into violence, a person or a group commits crimal acts such as beatings, stabbings, burning of crosses etc. because of sterotpyes and prejudge progangda. For example, during the middle ages many women accused of being witchs or were witchs were burned and killed because, of the sterotype that witchs are evil.
1).We can fing prejudice all around us in today's society. For example if most haven't noticed at most schools, and at my school the Caucasians,Hispanics, and Afrian Americans they all hang in their own group. Prejudice also has been said in jokes that people tell about one another.
ReplyDelete2).A way to tolerate prejudice is just walk away, and ignore whats been said because its not worth the confusion nor the time.
3).Four groups that's been the target of prejudice in our society is Afrian Americans,Caucasians, Hispanics, and Chinese. These groups have all contribute to many things such as inventions, food, clothes, and etc.
4).Prejudice attitudes that I will want to change are in the school house, court system, sports, and the people.
5).Prejudice attitudes turn into prejudiced actions or violence when someone begins to take the prejudiced conflict to far, there comes the actions and violence. What I can do to not cross that line is just stay to myself.
1. Prejudice is so commonly used today that you don’t even have to look for it most of the time it is right in front of your face T.V, Magazines, radio, harmless jokes. At our school there is prejudice for example it seems that most of the white students sit together, only one or two of them actually hang out with Black or Hispanic students. And some often stereotypes are Sexism, (women can’t get the job done like men), homophobia,Reverse discrimination.
ReplyDelete2.By just igronring it and try to stay away from it as much as possible, if someone makes a racism joke try not to laugh.
3.The four groups that come to mind are African Americans, Gays, Women, Hispanics.
I have no issuse or hard feelings toward any of them.African Americans have lead to inventions, sports, and taxes.Hispanics gave America culture, taxes and food which everyone loves.Gays have adoted children w/o homes, and design fashion. Women, give brith which is painful, many inventions and own big time companies.
4.Everyone is a little prejudice whather they admit it or not, I personally need to stop juding by apperances.
5.When prejudice turns to violence it is usually because some has said or done something that the victom can no longer take in which anfer becomes a motive. To keep myself from crossing the line all i need to do is put myself in the other person shoes and think "how would that feel if that was me", but still no one is perfect.
-Yours truly Kristie Sada-
1.We can find prejudice everywhere;for example, we can find it at school,at work, restaurants, and common places. The three examples of prejudice that I have hardly noticed are:obese people, sexual gender and the accent when someone is talking.
ReplyDelete2.Some ways I tolerate prejudice attitudes in others by ignoring them, or by walking away. I don't argue with people because is not worth it to argue with them and I might say something that I will regret later.
3.Four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society are African American,Hispanics,Caucasians, and Asian people. African Americans have contributed in sports, music, and presidential places. Hispanics have made alot for this country, even though many people think we shouldn't be here because we are all illegals, which is not true. In some way we had made our mark in U.S. because many important buildings of New York were made and designed by Hispanics. We have also contributed with Mexican food, and the Supreme Court.Caucasians have contributed with cars, sports and T.V. Asian people have also contributed with their food, tachnology and have designed clothes that we wear.
4.One of the prejudice attitudes that I would like to change about myself is food. Sometimes food can look nasty, and I don't try it because it's different and because the way it looks.
5.I think when prejudice attitudes turn into prejudice actions or violence, is when people grab justice for themselves, and draw all the hatred they have inside because they got really offended when someone was talking about their race or skin color. Sometimes when people come to me with a prejudice attitude, it does not hurt me because I know that the person is not talking, the hatred is the one who is talking and not the person. So I just ignore them, but when they really get to my weak point, I get mad about the prejudice attitude and I try to calm down myself and not to cross the line because I might say something that I will regret later.
-Yamile.
1) To me, prejudice can be found any where you go. I find it most of the time in public places because thats where you meet new people, and there are just some people out there who don't like people because of the color of their skin. When I think about my family conversations, sometimes they can be prejudice to a certain point. Most of the time when someone in my family has a conversation that may seem prejudice is when someone in my family doesn't like a certain person. Other than that, you most likely wouldn't hear any kind of prejudice conversations, most of the time. Jokes I have shared with my friends can be prejudice to a certain point. I think that in a lot of popular songs, prejudice does attend to occur. Some social cliques at school can act prejudice to some people in ways. Three examples of prejudice in America are: people automatically judging someone because of the way that they dress, someone who doesn’t talk to someone who tries to be their friend because of the race that they are, and some people don’t like to hang out at places because of people who go there. For example, if someone goes to a movie and sees a lot of people there that aren’t there race, then they don’t want to go back because they are the only person there that isn’t the same race of others.
ReplyDelete2) Some ways that I tolerate prejudice in others is just to ignore the fact that someone is being prejudice. I try to keep myself from getting involved with people who are prejudice because I don’t to get to a point where I act prejudice myself. Another way that I tolerate prejudice in other people is to just not even think about it, if someone who is a different race from me doesn’t like me, I don’t think of it as them being prejudice, I just think of it as, that person who doesn’t like me, doesn’t because of my personality.
3) Four groups of people that have been targeted of prejudice are: Muslims, celebrities, people who happen to have more than 5 kids and older people that are in there 60’s. Muslims have been targeted to prejudice because some people think that all Muslims are terrorist, and they are not. Celebrities, people think that celebrities are the ones who think that since they have so much money, they are snobs. I personally don’t think that if you actually got to know a celebrity, that they would be snobby to you. There are people out there who aren’t celebrities who act so snobby because they have a ton of money. People who have more than five kids also are targeted by people because they think that people are just having babies so that they can live for free and not have to work, but some people aren’t like that. Some people just happen to have five children because that’s what they want or because they just love kids. Finally, people who are older that are in there sixties or older are being targeted because some younger people think that since they have more energy than older people would have, they can have the ability to take charge of older people, when really, older people can do more than you think.
4) Some prejudice attitudes I would like to change in myself are, not to judge people because of the way they look, and to try to get to know someone before I make myself seem prejudice to a certain person.
5) Prejudice actions come from prejudice people who want to start something with an innocent person because they don’t like the race that they are. People shoot other people everyday because of there race. People can prevent their selves from this if they stay away from people who are prejudice.
1. I find prejudice in many places around me. The way African-American, Caucasian, and Mexican girls tend to hang-out with friends of their race, the jokes my friends and I make, and a few Lil Wayne songs I listen to are all examples of prejudice.
ReplyDelete2. I tolerate prejudice attitudes by simply ignoring them and walking away. Sometimes I just laugh or smile.
3. Four group that have been the target of prejudice are...
*African-Americans: I think alot of African-Americans are known to be very dramatic, but I don't think that's true. Some African-Americans may be very dramatic, but others can be layed back and calm.
*Caucasians: I think alot of Caucasians are known to be stuck-up and self-centered, but i don't think that's the case for all of them. Some Caucasians don't think everything is all about them.
*Hispanics: I think alot of Hispanics are known to be in gangs, very violent, and crazy, but I don't think they're all this way.
*Women (in general): I think alot of people think that women should stay at home and take care of the kids while their husbands are at work, but I think women should do whatever they want to do because they are physically able to do whatever men can do!
4. A prejudice attitude I would like to change in myself is the way I look at and think of boys.
5. Prejudiced attitudes turn into prejudiced actions or violence when policemen think just because a African-American male is driving too fast, he is drunk or has been smoking something. This may lead to the officer and the male getting into an arguement or altercation.
-Etasha.
#1. Prejudice can be found where ever there sre people. Three examples of prejudice that I haven't noticed before are racist jokes like white men can't jump, black people have big lips and women are made to be in the kitchen and in the bedroom.
ReplyDelete#2. Some ways i tolerate perjudiced attitudes in others are saying things back or just walking away.
#3. Four groups that have beem the target of prejudice in our society are as follows: African American, Caucasian, Hispancis and Arabics.
#4. Some prejudice attitudes I would like to change in myself is to stop making racist jokes and comments.
#5. When people get into conflicts they make it bigger than what it seems by assuming that the other person or persons are racist and they try to start fights.

ReplyDelete1. I find prejudice everywhere in the world. For example, people in my family, my friends, and I have prejudice attitudes sometimes.
ReplyDelete2. Sometimes I laugh, smile, and ignore prejudiced attitudes in others.
3. Four groups that have been targeted of prejudice attitudes are black, white, mexican, and puerto ricans.
Blacks- I think most black girls have too much drama going on.
Whites- I think most white people are stuck-up and think they know everything.
Mexicans- I think they are taking all of the factory jobs.
Puerto Ricans- I think they all think they have good hair.
4. I don't think I need to change anything, but if I have to it would be the way I judge others.
5. Prejudiced attitudes turn into violence when police officers think that just because a black male is driving a certain kind of car (with expensive rims), he has drugs or is a drug dealer.
-Ja'Toya.
1. You will find prejudice in the world all around you. No matter where you go. I don't really notice weight prejudice, or wealth and personality prejudice. Most of these aren't really noticable because you don't see it everyday.
ReplyDelete2. Some ways that I would tolerate prejudce is to just not listen. People know whats right and wrong with them and people who treat you wrong, don't. Its to not listen and knowing who you are that counts.
3. Fours groups that have been the target of prejudice would be racism, religion, sexism, and disability prejudice.
A- Racism- I don't really pay much attention to the color of peoples skin because everyones alike, just made different.
- Martin Luther king Jr.- freed the African-Americans from discrimanation.
B-Religion- Everyone has a right to what they believe in. I know some religions go a little too far, especially in war over it but I respect them.
- This brought a varity of groups so everyone can have something to belive in.
C-Disability- I feel sorry for the ones with disability. Its not there fault and treating them wrong really isn't the answer. Its a waste of peoples time to even bother treating them bad, for its not there fault.
- Abraham Lincoln- (mood disorder) Even with this disability, he led our country for many years creating peace and leading a nation into victory.
4. I would like to change how I judge people before i get to know them. I don't like to be prejudice sometimes because I react to how they look and its wrong.
5. Prejudice wars happen very fast and very easy. Especially in religion. Whatever religion a person is, there God will always want them to fight for their religion. Wars come out of nowhere and it turns into bloody fights to the death. I can keep myself from being apart of it because I was brought up to avoid conflict.
#1. I find prejudice attitudes and actions in a lot of schools. Here are some examples I have noticed before:
ReplyDeleteEx: 1) All white people think they are well educated and smart
2) All black people are always doing something negative that will affect other people.
3) All mexicans are immigrants.
#2. 1) Ignore them.
2) Confront them in a positive way so they won't get defensive all of a sudden.
3) Give them some kind of hint or clue about their behavior.
#3. My attitude towards:
Black people: I think there's nothing wrong with black people.
White people: I think white people treat people other than thier race better than how they use to.
Mexicans: Honestly, I think there are too many of them, and that they are crowding the U.S.
Chinese people: I think they are pretty cool, and they also can cook very well.
Contributions:
White people: In charge of a lot of colleges.
Black people: Invented over half of the stuff we use today on a regular basis.
Chinese people: Own a lot of Chinese restaurants.
#4. 1) The way I look at and think about people.
2) My comments I make about certain people.
#5. A person hears or knows if you have said something about their race, and then they either want to fight you, or try to have you up with the police.
I can keep myself from crossing that line by not saying or showing prejudice attitudes or comments at all.
1. You can find prejudice anywhere in the world. People who are prejudice, including me, normally don't notice it. To me stereotypical thinking is a form of prejudice. Two other types would be different cliques in school and sexual prefernce.
ReplyDelete2. One way is to just ignore that person or gropu of people. That way it won't lead to a physical altercation. Another way would be to try to get them to see what they are saying is wrong. That won't always work, because everybodyis different.
3. I would have to say that four groups that are subject to prejudice are African Americans, Women, Hispanics, and Muslims. I feel that all four groups are humans and should be treated that way. African Americans have contributed electric light bulbs, traffic lights, and excellent poetry. Women have contributed by giving birth, women's rights, and hair products. Hispanics contributed the discovery of RNA (ribonucleic acid), the NASA space program, and to governmental bodies. Muslims contributed knowledege of antiquity, arithmetic, and musical instruments.
4. I would change the way I judge people by their attitudes. You can't always go by the way someone one acts. They could just be putting on a front for certain people. Judging a book by its cover can be positive and negative.
5. Prejudice attitudes can change into violence when you meet someone that has had enough. You may come across someone who has been picked on so much that they just blow up. Just keep all negative thoughts and comments to myself and I can avoid this. I shouldn't hurt someone just to make myself feel good.
1. You find prejudices in a lot of places. There are racial prejudices almost everywhere you go. Also, you find religious and political prejudices.
ReplyDelete2. I tolerate prejudiced attitudes in others by trying not to pay attention to what they think. All that matters to me is what I think of myself and of other people.
3. 4 groups that have been a target of prejudices in our society are:
*African-Americans-I have no problem with people just because they are a different race.
*Hispanics-I think Hispanics are people too and I have no problem with them but I think they should be legal, because it's the law.
*Muslims-Just because they are a different religion than I am, doesn't mean that they are bad people.
*Women-Women should be equal with men becuase they are just as capable as doing things as men are. Their contributions are as follows:
*African-Americans-Martin Luther King Jr. contributed non-discrimination to our society; John Standard invented the refrigerator; John Burr invented the lawn mower.
*Hispanics-contributed Nachos; Desi Arnaz created reruns; they developed nuclear arms.
*Muslims-Muhammed contributed non-violent protest; Malcom X contributed to the Civil Rights movement, but he used violence; there are alos muslims in the U.S. army
*women-women gave us equal rights; we have women authors; Harriet Tubman helped free the slaves.
4. I try not to be prejudiced but I would like to change being prejudiced against stupid people.
5. If you are very prejudiced against a certain group, it might turn into violence but you could stop that by just ignoring that group or getting your anger out in another way. There's almost always an easier way to deal with anger than violence.

#1) Prejudice is found everywhere in this world, but mostly in public places and in school. Just about everyone is prejudice toward or about something. Three examples of prejudice I've hardly noticed before are food, the way people act, and the way people dress.
ReplyDelete#2) I think that walking away is the best thing you can do to deal with prejudiced attitudes in others. You’re wasting your time if you try to argue because it's hard to change someone's opinion if they strongly believe in something.
#3) The four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society are gender, ethnicity, nationality, and religion. The contributions these groups have had to the American society are that we got the 19th amendment because of the different genders. The 15th Amendment was put in place because of different races, and also the Civil Right Movement occurred. Thanks to different nationalities we now have all types of culture, food, and language. Lastly, because of religion the holocaust occurred and we also have all different types of churches.
#4) Some prejudiced attitudes I would like to change in myself are weight and looks.
#5) Prejudiced attitudes turn into violence when someone that thinks different confronts the other person pugnaciously. What I can do to keep myself from crossing that line is to keep the comments that can cause a person to act violent to myself , and ignore the people that make prejudice comments that affect me.
#1. In the U.S, you will find prejudice every where you go. The first example that i have heard is that when you see a person covered with tattoos people will assume that they are gang related. The second example is that people thinks that Mexicans are stealing jobs. Lastly, people also thinks that all Mexicans are all illegal when some are not.
ReplyDelete#2.Some ways that i would tolerate prejudiced is by ignoring them and by walking away.
#3. Four groups that has been target of prejudice in our society is African American,Hispanic,Caucasin, and Chinese.
*African Amercan has contributed in music and sports.
*Hispanics has contributed in music, food, and in construction jobs.
*Caucasin has contributed in sports, crops, and teaching[like teachers]
*Chinese has contributed in food and technology.
#4. Some prejudice attitude's i would like to change about myself is in the way i think that all boys are the same, food, and polices.
#5. Prejudice attitude changes into prejudice action or violence when a person talks about someone or something that offends another person. A way that i would avoid prejudice violence isby thinking twice what i am going to say back or just wont say nothing back.
1. Prejudice is found in school within family and friends. Three examples of prejudice are: All blacks are loud and ghetto, Whites think that they are better than everyone, and Mexicans smell.

2. I try my best to ignore them and just keep moving on. If I say something to them I try to approach them in a nice way.

3. Four groups that are targeted in our society today are: African Americans,Women, Hispanics, and Whites. I really dont have a problem with any of the groups, I think that they should all be treated equally. Afircan Americans invented traffic lights, hair dryers, etc. Women are the ones who bith the children of the wolrd. White people invented football and computers.

4. One prejudice thing that I would change about myself is to stop falling into conversations and stereotyping people in different races.
ReplyDelete:)JARViS
5. Prejudiced attitudes turn into violence when someone is talking about anothers race and they get offensive and start arguing and it turns into fighting or shooting. To keep myself from croosing that line is to ignore people when they are talkin about someone so that my name want be brought up when the conflict spreads.

1. I see prejudice all around me, but often times I don't even notice it. It could be in a joke I hear or in media, such as song lyrics or on television. Three examples of common prejudice stereotypes that I see are: the common idea that all black people are in a gang, all Mexicans are illegal immigrants, and that all white people are either dumb trailer trash or over-educated country clubbers.
ReplyDelete2. I think I tolerate racial prejudice by ignoring it. When I say this, I don't mean that when I see it happening I stop listening or block it out, but more that I just don't think about it. I try not to participate in it or encourage it.
3. African Americans - In my opinion, African Americans are intelligent people, just like any other race. I think that the minority of African Americans that are in gangs, in jail, or are excessively violent have set the wrong standard for the rest of the race. Because of these people, the rest of the word sees every African American person as being like them. Contributions: 1. Great food! Without African Americans, we wouldn't have okra, black eyed peas, watermelon, or sweet potatoes. 2. Blood banks, invented by Dr. Charles Drew. 3. Rap, Jazz, and Blues music.
Women - I think women are just as intelligent and useful as men! Contributions: 1. The population of the world. If it wasn't for us ladies, none of us would be here. 2.Car heat
3. The windshield wiper.
Hispanics - I think Hispanics are great people. Most of them are very smart and they know how to work. However, I do think that illegal immigration should be more controlled. Contributions: 1. Birth control 2. Soccer 3. The microwave
Jews - I have a lot of pity for the Jews. They were the victims of what was probably the darkest time in modern history. Contributions: 1. Jeans 2. Lasers 3. The ballpoint pen
4. I would like to change the way that I make assumptions about people and instead of just accepting the prejudice act out against it.
5. Prejudice attitudes turn into actions or violence when two people's opinions contradict or when a person has become fed up with being discriminated against. Often times people fight for themselves to take a stand against the prejudice. I can try to avoid having this happen by keeping my cool and taking a stand by telling people to lay off rather than punching them.
1. Right now in this world you will find prejudice every where in this world. This is sad but it is very true. Some people just laugh about the jokes or the songs, but this is how come we have so much violence in this world. Everyone on this earth takes things differently, and you may never know when someone might be offended by something that you said. Now when I think about some of the comments that my family members have said many might offend some people. Although, my family members aren’t the kind of people that say the awful comments that offend people in public. Three examples of prejudice that I have hardly noticed before are the following: the cliques in schools, prejudiced against women, and racial jokes in general.
ReplyDelete2. Some ways that I try to tolerate prejudiced attitudes in others is to just stay away from these people. Why would you want to take the chance to get in the middle of these people? Everyone knows who I’m talking about the ones that run their mouths in public to try to get attention. To me it’s the wrong kind of attention; although, when they get in trouble they get scared and don’t want to say anything. Another way I tolerate prejudice is to not participate in it.
3. Four groups that come to mind that have been targeted in our society are the following: Women, Religious groups, African Americans, and the Elderly or the older generation.
*Women-are the mothers of the children of America, they have made there mark in politics, and made it clear that they can do anything a man can do and even sometimes better. For instance we have female doctors, authors, scientist, and governors.
*Religious groups- they have helped people in their communities, they have given their people something to believe in, and churches are a safe place for the people to worship in.
*African Americans- invented some of the things we take for granted today, music, and sports.
*Elderly- the elderly or the old generation for instance our grandparents have given use wisdom, their piece of mind weather we like or not, and their love and caring even when we get into big trouble.
4. Some prejudiced attitudes I would like to change about myself would be not to judge people by first impressions. I know you shouldn’t judge people by how they act, look, dress, or rumors about them. Although, sometimes you just look at someone and think the obvious about them by their actions. But I know that it’s like the old saying, ‘’Never judge a book by its cover’’ and I believe everyone should go by this.
5. To me there is a fine line between prejudiced actions and/or violence. Mostly because most people just laugh a the prejudice jokes, but then when they are gun point because they offend the wrong person they wont be laughing. I mean people just need to watch what they say I public, because different take things different. Also you never know when someone might think that you are talking about them and they get offend. You just never know who is listening when you are in a public place like school or in town. For me I would just try to keep away from the people who go to far with the act of prejudice.

ReplyDelete1. There are alot of prejudice stuff out in the U.S. One is if a black person walk into a stroe people think the person is stealing. Antother is that white people is born in places like Bel-air. Lastly, black people think you are not black if you don't eat fried chicken.
ReplyDelete2. I tolerate prejudice by walking away or tell the person to chill.
3. Blacks: I think that blacks are cool, but that blame to many people for the situations.
Whites: They are cool too, but there are still some that would follow a person around a store because of thier race.
Hispanics: I think that people dont want hispanics in the US because they take all the jobs, but all they take is little jobs likes blue collar working jobs.
Arabians: i think you should not tagget a whole group of peole just because of a few narrow mind individuals.
Contreibutions:
Blacks: The car brake, air conditioners, movies, music, first successfully open heart sugrey, and sports.
Whites: tranpation, internet, and basketball
Hispanics: Color TV, e-book,and birth control pills.
Arabians: Writing paper, the use of gun powder, and dominions
4. People hating arabians and Muslims, becacuse of 9/11
5. When someone take a stand to the prejudice people it will either keep going or turn violent. I dont think you can stop it, because thats how people are.

1) Prejudice is everywhere in the world; around every corner you turn. I know that I can be prejudice toward things, but here are three that are under the radar, meaning I don't notice them as much as the others. Fashion, class, and weight, these types don't catch my attention as quick.
ReplyDelete2) I tolerate prejudice attitudes in others by ingoring them completely. It's not polite to show it toward others, but if I can turn my head and try to forget what others say and do, then that's my way of dealing with it.
3)Today in our society there are many types of prejudice that have been the on the radar.
-Race: My attitude towards the whole racial thing, is that why can't we all just get along. We are all the same, we might look different, but we are all people that have feelings and a brain to think.
-Rosa parks( she stood up for the african American race)
-Gender: Prejudice against the sexes, has just been a up hill battle. Women are just as capable of doing things a man can do; however, men have the strength to obtain those tough jobs.
-Women of America standing for what they want
-Income: I personality feel that money doesn't solve everything, I might ease the pain that others might have, but I don't feel that I am prejudice towards this type.
- It comes to show that money doesn't always solve everything.
-Age: If you're young or old, it doesn't matter, we all know that age will eventually creep up on us all. I deal with this by just faceing the facts.
- That any thing is possible if you have the heart to do it.
4)I would like to change the fact that my family influences some of my actions, but I take full responsibility of them though; however, I would like to look at being prejudice as something that I shoiuldn't look at in that manner again. I want to become a better person.
5)Prejudice attitudes can become very violent in a matter of seconds. If someone says something wrong, then the other person will not be happy, and will resolve this in the wrong type of manner. I will not have that type of behavior towards others, and I will keep my opinions to myself.

1) I find prejudice all around me everywhere I go. The places I go, the people im with, and what im wearing. Most people who see me are prejudice aganist me. Three examples of prejudice that I have hardly noticed before are weight, hair color, and clothes.
ReplyDelete2) The ways I tolerate prejudiced attitudes in others are
1# I just don't say anything.
2# Sometimes if I find it offensive I open my big mouth and say something.
3) The four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society are Caucasians, young people/ teenagers, over weight people, and people with disablities.
Caucasians- I really hate it that people think that we are so much better than everyone eles. Most of us are actually the same as everyone eles. Not all of us are rich, stuck up, raceist, or act like were the only ones who matter on earth. Sterotypes make us look like were bad, stuck up people. But in reality if people actually got to know some of us then they won't think that were like the sterotype of us.
Contributions- Governments, light bulb, automoblies.
Young people/ teenagers- Older people think that we don't know anything or that were too nieve.
Contributions- New ideas to make the world better, community service, labor force.
Over wieght people- Some people who are over wieght can't help it. Most people think that people who are bigger than them just go out and eat everything they see but they don't.
Contributions- Diet plans to help other over wieght people, support systems.
People with disablities- When someone says that somone has a disablitie they automatically that that their mentally retarded. But not all are. Some just have problems learing.
Contributions- Places for people to get help with the same kind of disablitie.
4) I don't want to change any prejudice attitudes about my self because I don't judge a book by its cover.
5) Prejudiced attitudes turn into prejudiced actions and/or violence when someone wants to start something with another person. I keep my self from crossing the line because i'm not the type of person to start anything with anyone.
1.You can find prejudice in songs, such as men calling the women outside. Also in some songs, you can hear the rappers talking bad about the police. The three examples are,I knoe of an indian who doesn't like black people. White people think they are superior over blacks people and indians and mexicans and blacks steal alot. When black people go in the store, the clerks watch their every move thinking they about to steal something.
ReplyDelete2.Some ways I tolerate prejdiced attitudes in others, Ijust walk away from the situation. I don't get involved with people who discriminate aginst people because I don't.
3.Africans Americans- Don't bother me because i'm black, so they don't phase me at all.
Gays-They chose to have that life style I don't have anything against them. They live life the they want to.
Nerds(Really Smart People)-They shock me because of how highly intelligent they are. I'm proud of them for that.
Poor People-Nobody wants to be poor, they are trying to be successful in life like everybodyelse. I would like to try and help them if I could.
4.Some prejudice attitudes Iwould like to change in myself is that the way I look at some people when they are talking loud. Also, I don't like the way some people act around others, somtimes because they try to act like they are better than others.
5.When someone is talking down to another person, that person might get offened and that results to a conflict. Just take a deep breathe and try not to spark a conflict even if it means walking away.
1)I find prejudice everywhere I go in this world, such as stores and banks. Three exapmles of prejudice I may have hardly noticed are religion, money, and personality.
ReplyDelete2)Some ways of tolerating prejudice attitudes are to ignore it and walk away.
3)Three groups that have been the target of prejudice are African-American, Caucasian, and Hispanic. I don't have any problems with these groups. Three contributions that these groups have made are jobs, technology, and inventions.
4)I would like to change my prejudice attitude of judging a book by its cover.
5)Prejudiced attitudes turn into prejudiced actions and violence when that specific group of people hear you talk about them. You can learn to treat all people the same to keep yourself from crossing that line.

1. Prejudice is found any and every where in today's society. prejudice is found in places such as south, homes , songs and schools. Three examples of prejudice that exist today are racial , food ,games.
ReplyDelete2.There are many ways to get over or ignore prejudice such as ignoring them try to understand the opponent , or just agree.
3.Four groups have been targeted in out modern day world when it comes to prejudice . these four groups are blacks, whites, chinese, hispanics.
My(outlooks)& the contributions they've made
blacks-postive.historical changes;inventions;
whites-positive.inventions;presidents;government
hispanics-positive.government;contributionof land ; money income and outcome
chinese-positive.inventions;government;econmy status.
4.The prejudice attitude I would like to change about my self is first opinion towards anyone.
5.Prejudice most likely occurs when someone has tooken to far . To keep your self from crossing that line or anyone from crossing that line youu can ignore their illiteracy.
1. In the world around me i notice that most prejudice is by people who are ignorant to other beliefs, behaviors, or ways of life.
ReplyDelete2. I tolerate prejudice by either acting the opposite or just ignoring it.
3. ¤Muslims/Arabians: When someone sees a muslim or arabian they expect them to have a bomb or wearing burqas. They contributed to coffee, parachutes, and surgery.
¤Native Americans: The are looked down upon and thought to be eneducated or leaves in forests. They created the kayak, snowshoes, and lacrosse.
¤African-Americans: When someone who is prejudice thinks of an African-American they expect them to slack, be ghetto, or wanting to "pop a cap" in someone or "Ride or die with his boys" but they are all not like that. they created the telephone transmittor, railroad signal, and the electric switch.
¤Caucasians: Usually when someone sees a caucasian they expect them to be stuck-up or "boojey" and nerdy but they aren't.
4. The prejudice that i would change about myelf would be the way i think of old caucasian people.
5. The way that prejudiceness turns into violence is when the victim may be ignoring it and the prejudice person may want the victim to be scared. To keep myself from that situation, i would try to keep myself with company or away from prejudiceness.
2.) I tolerate prejudice attitudes by either ignoring the person or trying to explain to them why prejudice is such a bad thing in todays society.
ReplyDelete3.) Four groups in today’s society that I think have been targets for prejudice attitudes are African Americans,Jews,Native Americans, and Arabs. I personally have no problem with any of the groups listed above. Each of these groups has made contributions to everyday life. The Native Americans were the backbone of farming, fishing, and harvesting. The Jews have taught people how to stand up for what they believe in and how to fight back in the darkest of times. African American showed the world that people should be equal, have the same rights, and be able to live together in peace.
ReplyDelete4.) The prejudice attitude that i would like to change is not to judge someone by how they look or act.
ReplyDelete5.) Prejudice is taken to far when the group being targeted is treated with disrespect and violent actions, also when the group is close to being destroyed as a whole. I can keep myself from crossing that line by putting myself in their shoes. I would ask myself how you would feel if you were in that position.
ReplyDelete1.)Prejudice is used in everyday life, no matter where you are. For example people joke about "blondes" and how dumb they are. You can also just walk down the hallway at scholl and hear some say "oh thats my n**ga, or "cracker please". I myself use prejudice comments everyday without even thinking about it.
ReplyDelete2.)I tolerate prejudice comments to a certain extent. For instence, if i were joking around with someone and they said "cracker please" or something i dont really think about it; however, when i hear someone gettting mad at a certain person and they use the "N" word i usually just walk away,or ignore them.
3.)-Caucasion people: personally i have no problem with them. One contribution is George Washington tried to help get rid of segregation. Thomas Edison created electricity, and Mr.Hall teaches World History.
-African Americans: Once again I have no problem with them. One contribution is George Washington Carver discovered three hndred different things you can use peanuts for, Obama's the first balck president, and Micheal Jackson was the one who started music vidoes.
4.)The only prejudice thing that id change about me would be my habbit of saying "that's so gay".
5.)One way that things get started by prejduice comments is when someone calls an African American the "n" word, someone calss a Hispanic a "w.b.", calls a white person a cracker, an so much more. To keep fights or disputes from happening just do what what my Meme says,"if you don't have something nice to say then dont say anything at all".
#1.The place where i find prejudice is almost anywhere in the U.S..An example of this is deportation because due to the reason that people were born in another country Americans want them gone. another example of prejudice is gang violence. Even though you might not consider it prejudice it is because people fight and discriminate against each other because of colors. Religion can also be an example of prejudice because when someone is from another religion, others can build bad thoughts about them.
ReplyDelete#2.The ways you can tolerate prejudice in others is by not getting involved in any discussion that are prejudice. You can also maintain your personal things to yourself so people will not be prejudice against you and your life.
#3.The four groups that we hear that people are prejudice against are Hispanics, African Americans, the Islamic culture and also a religion which is the Catholic religion .My thoughts about the following are the following:
Hispanics: I think Hispanics are hardworking.
African Americans: I think African Americans are intelligent and i think well of them.
Catholics: I think Catholics are helpful to this community.
Islamic culture: I think the Islamic culture keeps true to there culture and are very smart.
Contributions:
Hispanics: Hispanics have contributed to the community by being hardworking and working for U.S business.
African Americans : The way African Americans have contribution to the community is by bringing their music for example Jazz.
Catholics: The way Catholics have contributed to the U.S is by their community service and helping others.
Islamic culture: The Islamic culture has contributed to the U.s by bringing poetry to the U.S, the number one port is Rami and he is Islamic.
# 4. A prejudiced attitude I would probably change about me is me hating math. I would change this because probably if I liked math, I would make better grades on it.
#5.Prejudiced attitudes can turn into violence, when thoughts become words and words become actions (violence). This happens when people can't control their emotions and rage towards others. I can keep myself from being violent by keeping by keeping my thoughts to myself.
Native Americans are said to be wild crazy and only hunt buffalo. They have contributed a lot to American society like the first calenders. Also the first ever basketball game. Chocolate was also created by them from the coco bean.
ReplyDeleteThe Irish are also considered to be drunks, wild, party people. They have contributed St.Patricks day to America. Also they have contributed to the fine arts, literature, and sports.

1. Prejudice is found every where in the world; for example, there is a lot of prejudices around Hispanic people. People categories everyone Hispanic as Mexicans just because they speak Spanish. Another example is that they think everyone is Illegal. Also, they think that because we are Mexican we are Catholic.
ReplyDelete2. When people start making prejudice about others I prefer to stay quiet. I personally don't think is right. I believe that if you don’t want to be judge you should do it. I can't understand why people do prejudice about others and when they do it about them they get mad. For that reason I try to ignore that type of comments.
3. Many groups have been targets of prejudice in our society; however, the Hispanics, African-Americans, Chinese, and people with disabilities in general.
Hispanics: I personally think that they are hard workers and that they reserve an opportunity. They Hispanics have made a lot of contribution to U.S.A. We brought our culture and our background. We also have given our hard work for U.S.A companies. Also, in some ways we have helped the community.
African-American: I think they are some niece people and we should believe all the stereotypes they say about them. They also have contribute to America culture by bringing their music, believes and their work.
Chinese: they are some intelligent people that are very success too. They brought their culture, language and their hard work to our society.
Disability People: They are some wonderful human beings. Even they are not the same like you and me they have made contributions too. They have show that sometimes they can be more successful than a normal person. They also showed us that having a physical problem is not a reason for not been success. I think they are people that inspired you to continue fighting in life for what you want.
4. I will like to change my attitude towards prejudice comments about Mexicans.
5. I think that in the world there are always some kinds of limits. I think that even when you just making fun about something you should never forget the respect you suppose to show to someone else. You should always respect the person and never forget that if you judge they will judge you back.
1) You can find prejudice all around you. For example, African Americans are thought to be drug dealers, Hispanics are all called Mexicans, and Caucasians are considered rich.
ReplyDelete2) I personally try to ignore the prejudice attitudes. I don't like being prejudice, either.
3) Four groups that have been the target of prejudice are Hispanics, African Americans, Gays, and Women.
*Hispanics do construction, landscaping, and domestic work.
*African Americans are teachers, doctors, and they do taxes.
*Gays do your hair, nails, and help you shop.
*Women give birth, cook, and work.
4) Some prejudice attitudes that I would like to change in me is when they talk about Hispanics.
5) Prejudice attitudes turn into prejudice actions when people talk about someone or something that offends the other person. I can think about what I am going to say twice or just don't say anything that will offend someone else.

ReplyDelete#1. You can find prejudice all over the world. Most of the time prejudice is found in public places. Most of the time when you are being prejudiced you don’t even know it. Everybody is prejudice a little bit no matter what they say.
# 2. Most ways I can deal with prejudice is walk away and argon them. People are prejudice everyday and most of the time they don’t know it.
# 3. Caucasian I don’t have a problem with them.
Africa American give different kinds of music
Hispanic give handwriting and working
# 4. The only prejudice thing I would change about me judging people on how they look.
# 5. One way prejudice get started is by talking about someone , and then that turns into
Violence
La’Gina
Prejudices are found everywhere around us. For example, Friday when I was at the mall I heard a women say a group of black guys look like they’re going to steal something. I usually tolerate prejudiced with ignoring it, because I think the people who believe it are ignorant. African Americans, Latin Americans, Caucasians, and Asians, unlike most people, I have the ability to get along with them all. Everyone has contributed to America in some way or another. If I could change one prejudice act against myself it would be that I dress the way I do because I want to be someone else. Prejudice actions turn into violence when people are offended and or feel as if they should respond to them. To keep myself from crossing that line I would think about how innocent people that hear my ignorant response would be affected.
ReplyDelete1. Prejudice can be found in the work place and aginst mexican beacuse people think they are illegal. There prejudiced aganist short people, mexican and women.
ReplyDelete2. They way I deal with prejudiced people is that I dont talk or believe them. I know what God made me and dont listen to them.
3.Their prejudice aganist mexican, black people, women and short people. Mexican have gave mexico food, speech, and music which is now popluar in all other groups.Women have gave good laws, mothering, and love. This is what give us the power to go on. Black people have gave muisc, food, and freedom. Black people have gave muisc, food, and freedom. Black have gave freedom to all young black children in the world that make us Amercians. Short people gave the short people sports that is nation now. Even kid are in them and showing there strength.
4.The only thing I would change about me is how people act.
5.The act turn into violence when someone get beat or jump.

ReplyDelete1. I PERSONALLY HAVE EXPERIENCED PEOPLE BEING PREJUDICE IN EVERYDAY LIFE. AS FAR AS, AT SCHOOL, ATHLETICS, AND WHEN TRYING TO GET A JOB. FOR EXAMPLE AT SCHOOL SOME TEACHERS SEEM TO THINK JUST BECAUSE A STUDENT LIVE IN A CERTAIN NEIGHBORHOOD THEY HAVE A LACK OF EDUCATION. SECONDLY, IN ATHLETICS SOME COLLEGES MAY NOT PICK A SPECIFIC ATHLETE BECAUSE THEY CAME FROM A CERTAIN HIGH SCHOOL. LASTLY, WHEN TRYING TO GET A JOB, MOST EMPLOYERS DON’T LIKE TO HIRE PEOPLE WITH TATOOS.
2. SOMETIMES I MAY NOT TOLERATE IT AND JUST TELL THEM WHATS ON MY MIND. BUT, IF I DO DECIDE TO LET THE SITUATION RIDE I JUST TURN THE OTHER CHEEK AND LET THE SITUATION GO.
3. -AFRICAN-AMERICANS ME PERSONALLY, I DON’T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH BLACK PEOPL BECAUSE SOME CCAN BE VERY COOL PEOPLE. HOWEVER, SOME MAYBE A LIL TOO LOUD AT CERTAIN TIME BUT, OVERALL THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE.
-MEXICANS ARE MOSTLY STEREOTYPE BY THE FOOD THEY EAT AND THE CLOTHES THEY WEAR. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE I HAVE BEEN AROUND A LOT OF MEXICAN AND THEY ARE JUST LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE.
-HOMOSEXUALS ARE SOMETIMES ISOLATED FROM OTHERS PEOPLE MAY BE DISGUSTED BY THEM AND MOST PEOPLE MAY NOT LIKE TO BE AROUND THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE SCARED THAT THEY MAY TRY TO HIT ON THEM BUT WHEN IM AROUND THEM I FEEL NORMAL.
-FEMALES ARE STEREOTYPE BECAUSE MALES OFTEN THINK THAT WOMEN CAN’T DO NOTHING BUT COOK, CLEAN, AND HAVE BABIES BUT, LITTLE DO MEN KNOW THAT WOMEN CAN DO A MAN’S JOB BETTER THAN ANY OTHER PERSON.
4. SOMETIMES I MAY FIND MYSELF TRYING 2 STAY AWAY PEOPLE WHO ARE ARABIAN BECAUSE I FEEL A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE AROUND THEM.
5.INORDER TO IMPROVE MYSELF FROM TURNING MY PREJUDICE WAYS INTO VIOLENCE I CAN TRY TO GET USED TO BEING AROUND ALL KINDS OF PEOPL BECAUSE I WOULD’NT WANT NOBODY TREATING ME LIKE A ANIMAL OR LIKE A PIECE OF NOTHING.
4.) Some predjuice attitudes that i would change about myself is in people in which i judge them by and the cops.
ReplyDelete5.) Prejudiced attitudes turn into prejudiced actions and/or violence when there are more then ill say two people involved.

1. Where do you find prejudice in the world around you? Think about family conversations, jokes you have shared with friends, the lyrics of popular songs, and the social cliques at school. What are three examples of prejudice that you may have hardly noticed before?
ReplyDelete*You find prejudices all around you. Three examples of prejudices are ethinicity, religion, and gender.
2. What are some ways you tolerate prejudiced attitudes in others?
*I just ignore it most of the time, but sometimes I call the person out on it.
3. List at least four groups that have been the target of prejudice in our society. Next to each group's name, state your honest attitudes toward them. Now list a minimum of three contributions to American society that each of these groups has made.
*Hispnaics- Contributed to work force, color TV, birth control
*Arabs- Help stimulate the economy, paper, use of gun powder
*Blacks- Contributed to American culture, hair dryer, stoplight
*Whites- Bill of rights, internet, bicycle
4. What are some prejudiced attitudes you would like to change in yourself?
*I am not prejudiced.
5. How and when do prejudiced attitudes turn into prejudiced actions and/or violence? What can you do to keep yourself from crossing that line?
*Prejudiced attitudes usually turn violent when someone takes a stand against it

1. I usually find prejudice in music and everyday conversations. Three types of prejudice that are hardly noticed are who people hang around and communicate with. Jokes that people make tend to have prejudice content in them and certain songs that I listen to personally.
ReplyDelete2. I tolerate prejudice attitudes form people by overlooking them. Sometimes I avoid the people who I know have prejudice outlooks on things or people that I don’t agree with.
3.
1) Immigrants
2) Asians-Asians contributed their culture to everyone and influenced Americans to follow in their steps as well.
3) Arabians- Arabs contribute to the American society because they bring things form their country and for Americans to purchase at lower price in the midst of our crisis in society with the problem of retail. They also provide jobs by opening their stores and allowing Americans to work in them and be able to supply for themselves.
4) KKK- the KKK association contributed to the American society because it showed everyone that no one thinks and has the same opinion on certain things and it gives them a sense of relief to themselves.
4. Some of the things I say in my everyday language are prejudice because I sometimes say certain races by describing people and I don’t like certain things that other people do and I sometimes share my opinion about them.
5. Prejudice attitudes turn into prejudice violence when people continue to carry on with their prejudice thoughts and outlooks while making them public. I 0can keep myself out of this by keeping my prejudice thoughts to myself and accepting people as they are and also keeping my thoughts private so that no one will be offended by them.
-Joselyn
1. Prejudice? Where I find prejudice is almost everywhere in the U.S. An example is racism. I say racism because people are always complaining about them because they were born in another country. Some of the U.S citizen want them illegal out of the U.S. On the other hand id gang violence. I say that gang violence is prejudice because people always are fighting and are being discriminate against another gangs or people.
ReplyDelete2. The best way not to get tolerate prejudice attitude in other is by not getting in the situation. I would not try to get between the people who are always prejudice.
3. The group are Hispanic, African-American, different religion and people from different part of the world. Hispanic- For me I believe that Hispanic are very hardworking because they are always trying to do their best in order to achieve in the United States and getting better and look forward. African-American-believe that they are from another country and still believe that they can do because I think they have change throughout time from the beginning. Religion- There are many different religion but, still depend on their self from different thing that occur around us. They are like responsible and mature for their religion.
4. One of the prejudice that I would like to change is getting more better in Literature/Reading because that is my weakness since I was in elementary school and would love to get better to get better grades on it.
5. The prejudice attitudes can turn into violence when thing are changing and become into actions. People do this when they are out of control that there feeling and emotion are different from people.
Jairus Miles
ReplyDelete1.)
I find prejudice everywhere I go. For example, in our school people don't like someone for who they hang around. Some people here will actually stop talking to their old friend, because they didn't like there other friend. That's crazy isn't it? Another example is when some young African Americans greet each other with the "N" word. It seems like they can call their friends and family members that, but soon as a caucasian say it, it seems like they are so surprised and they actually get offended by it.
2.)
Well last year I was different. I mean, when people said some prejudice remarks, I confronted them and it was a big problem. Now this year, I have changed big time. I rather ignore all the ignorance around me.
3.)
1. Homosexual- I really don't care about them, because that's their life. I can't control them and what they do behind closed doors. Even when people judge me, I really don't care what they have to say anymore!
2.Handicapp People- People always laugh and talk about how they re disformed, they fail to realize that they could have been the one in their position!
3.Lastly, Racial Profiling is a big problem. Some caucasian policemen actually do things that are not called for to some African American men. Like the incident where that African American man was shot and killed in New York. That wasn't even called for, and plus the police that did it, surprisingly got away with it.
4.)
I would like to change the way I talk over other races, like "Higher" than them.
5.)
If someone keeps picking at what they can do and act like they are higher in life than me. I already have had progress in that. Also I can better myself by, keeping my cool and give good feedback, because my grandmother always said, "if you don't have nothing good to say, don's say it at all"!

1. I find prejudice just about every where in the world. After I think about it, I find more prejudice things just about every where. Three examples of prejudice are the social cliques in school, lyrics in some of the songs you might hear in the radio, and some racial jokes that are spread all over via text message.
ReplyDelete2. I tolerate prejudiced attitudes by ignoring them. I know that everybody has their own opinions and if they feel that way I can’t do anything to change it. I’m prejudice against ignorance and I know that nobody can change that about me. Why try to change something that may be influenced afterwards.
3. Four groups that have been a target of prejudice in our society are Hispanics, Caucasians, African-Americans, and Arabs. Hispanics have contributed to America by giving us Tacos, architecture, and a strong labor force. Caucasians have contributed electricity, the first forty-three presidents, and the first automobile. African-Americans have contributed most of the rap genre, famous comedians such as Chris Rock, and the traffic light. Arabs have contributed a new religion, natural gas, and oil.
4. I wouldn’t want to change anything about myself. I’m prejudice against ignorance and I will most likely always be that way. I don’t have anything else I’m prejudiced against, so I don’t think there is anything to be changed. I could understand if I was prejudiced against a race or a gender but I’m not.
5. Prejudiced attitudes can lead into violence if one is pushed to it. For example, today I saw four of five African-Americans chase a Hispanic down the street mainly because of racism. We should not let ourselves be influenced to do something so demeaning. We can keep ourselves from doing that by staying away from people who are like that and by being the better person. It takes a strong person to fight but even a stronger person to walk away.
1). I find prejudice everywhere I go. I mean sometimes I am victim of prejudice actions. My family looks bi-racial, so when we are in public we have funny looks and remarks thrown at us. For example, a cashier throw my money on the counter as if my hand wasn’t held out waiting for my money. ( I was so mad!!!!!)
ReplyDelete2).Sometimes when friends make jokes that could be prejudice I laugh in stead correcting they and letting them know that we are in the wrong.
3). In society there are a lot of groups that have to deal with injustice acts. One group are women in general no matter the race or where ever they are from. Women can get turned from a job for no reason and that is type of prejudice. Mexicans have to deal with prejudice remarks all the time. I believe that people should have fair opportunities no matter where they were born. Another group of people that have to deal with prejudice remarks and actions is the GAY community. Everyone that I have named have given a lot of thing to our society as individuals and they should be treated like they are equal.
4). I would like to stop using stero types that might be prejudice.
5). Violence can be stopped by EDUCATION. If you educate people they might think about how they are effecting the group or person they are talking about.

. I find prejudice in countless places. Preludice is found in music, genders, and race.
ReplyDeleteFor exmaple, at school I see a group of mexicans togehter, then blacks, and whites. There's many jokes that are said such as calling mexicans burrito or whites stiff.
2. I tolerate prejudice by walking away from it and not saying anything about it.
3. Four groups that have been target of prejudice are...
- African Americans (blacks)= I think most Africans Americans are loud and deep inside ghetto but it's not true. Soome that i have met are the exact opposite from that.
-Carsian (whites)= I think the majority of carcasians are stiff and stuck up.
-Women= I think most women shouldn't be trying to do physical things with the exceptions of sports.
-Arabs= I think the majority Arabs are dangerous and destructive.
4. A prejudice attitude i would like to change in myself is how i look at different relegions such as Jews and Muslims.
5. Prejudice attitudes turn into actions when a policemen stops an African American because he thinks he is loaded drugs. To keep myself from crossing that line I will wraching what let or who I let in my car and be repsectful.

ReplyDelete2)Ways that i tolorate prejudice are staying away from the group of people who are races, laugh along with them as if it were funny, or smile sarcastically.
3)native american, chinese, japanese, african americans, and indians.
4)i think that all people are equal and i have nothing against them.
5)when it comes to ofendeing someone because of how they are born such as, collor of skin and religion.
5) i feel that if i keep the positive attitude that i have towards people and try to avoid hanging out with people who are prejudice i think that i can keep myself from crossing that line to becomming prejudice
